    Plaquenil lupus fatigue

I'm not completely pain free, but it's a lot better than it was. I've been on plaquenil since mid June I have had a lot of stress in my life so I can't determine what is causing what. Not seeing any improvements with pain but I just went to 0 prednisone 3 weeks ago. said give it a few months and if I don't see any improvement I might as well go off of it. Wanted to let you know that I was on plaquenil for about three years and I told my RA doctor that my fatigue was worse. It just seems like the fatigue is worse than it has ever been, and it doesn't seem to matter if I go to bed early or take a nap during the day. Woke up and cleaned the kitchen an hour later(my kitchen is a galley kitchen 8 ft maybe.no time) Took a nap. Early on I did get those stomach cramps and diarrhea. All my pain is tolerable and he sees no deformities so he says he doesn't see RA activity. Just because the pain is tolerable doesn't make me like it any better. He did a plaquenil test and sure enough it was low.

If anything, it’s Lupus OR psychosomatic. Plaquenil is a slow-acting drug which is why you take it long term. It honestly takes on average 1 to 3 months to work and be built up in your system, which is why you typically have a 3-6 month review after being prescribed it. Since one third of lupus individuals have fibromyalgia, it is no surprise that extreme fatigue comes with it. Severe pain, anemia, kidney dysfunction, thyroid issues, immune suppression and adrenal fatigue are other physical conditions that can cause lupus fatigue, as well. Systemic lupus erythematosus SLE is an autoimmune disorder that can affect multiple organs with varying degrees of severity. Renal involvement in SLE can range from silent disease to severe renal insufficiency occurring in 50-70% of lupus patients depending on the population studied 1-3.

I wake up tired in the morning, get my kids fed and off to the schoolbus, and some days that's all I can do until it's time to go pick them up and make dinner, then I collapse after the kids are put to bed. I don't know if this is just the way RA is, or if it is a side effect of the medicine. Wasn't going to eat luch because I would have to move to do it.husband bought out. Kids came home, helped with homewrok, made dinner..picked up couch(because my blanket and pillow were there) Went to bed at 9.

Hydroxychloroquine is in a class of medications that was first used to prevent and treat malaria. Today, it is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, some symptoms of lupus, childhood arthritis also known as juvenile idiopathic arthritis and other autoimmune diseases. It is not clear why hydroxychloroquine is effective at treating autoimmune. It is unclear why extreme fatigue occurs in so many people with lupus. Several factors appear to be related to the experience of fatigue. These include disease activity and pain level, medications taken, age, poor mental and/or physical health, and the absence of sufficient social support. Poor coping strategies. In 1956, the U. S. Food and Drug Administration approved HCQ for symptoms of lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, particularly skin inflammation, hair loss, mouth sores, fatigue, and joint pain. Dosing Hydroxychloroquine is generally prescribed at a daily dose of 6.5 milligrams or less per kilogram of body weight.
